GIS Technology

Since 1995, MCi has been involved in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications technology. MCi can customize GIS applications not only to meet a client’s needs for database compilation referenced to mapping, but more importantly, to provide analysis of options and alternatives. GIS-generated information can be easily presented in the forms of maps and accompanying charts, graphs, contours and symbols. The value of GIS products enables clients to make important decisions based on state-of-the-art graphics and mapping. Because GIS products can be produced rapidly, various scenarios can be evaluated effectively.

We use the latest GIS software – ArcInfo with its full suite of modules comprising ArcGIS and including ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox. Our GIS work can be fully integrated with our design software, AutoCAD and MicroStation, for a seamless transition from the planning and preliminary engineering stages of a project to their final design stages.

Virtual Design

MCi strives to meet and exceed the client’s needs for better management, planning, design and construction activities throughout the life of a project. Visualizing concepts and design options and analyzing their impact on material quantities, costs, and existing physical project constraints in a timely and cost-effective manner increases the value of a project. Once such virtual design tool is AutoCAD Civil 3D Software. AutoCAD Civil 3D is a dynamic, “smart tool” that allows MCi engineers with real-time updates as they work on analyzing or designing projects to immediately identify any potential problems or issues that may impact the project. Use of this tool in the engineering and construction industry made it possible to examine the project elements in a more collaborative and intuitive manner. Both engineering and non-engineering audiences have a better understanding and greater engagement in a 3D model than in a 2D drawing.

AutoCAD Civil 3D can be integrated with GIS data; with aerial imagery and terrain models from the Google Earth ™; BIM models; GPS systems mounted on construction equipment to improve the overall delivery of a project from start to finish.

MCi has well-qualified, trained staff in AutoCAD Civil 3D available to meet client demands and needs.
